I am writing to express my strong interest in a Federal Volunteer Service (Bundesfreiwilligendienst – BFD) position in care assistance.

I am a development and programme professional with 13 years of experience working across government institutions, NGOs, consulting firms and international development organisations. My work has involved community engagement, beneficiary support, field assessments, monitoring, training, coordination and reporting. Among other professional experiences, as a Grants Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, I supported the Livelihood Improvement Project in Neno, Malawi, funded by the Hemsley Charitable Trust through United States African Development Foundation, which targeted people living with non-communicable diseases. This experience strengthened my desire to work more directly with vulnerable people and contribute to their wellbeing.

I am now intentionally seeking a career transition into social and healthcare support, where I can use my communication, empathy, patience, teamwork, problem-solving and organisational skills to make a direct and meaningful difference in people’s lives. I am eager to learn, adaptable and committed to treating patients and those in need with dignity, respect and compassion.

I currently speak English fluently and have no previous knowledge of German, but I am actively taking an online German language course and am committed to continuing my language development. I would appreciate more information on German language support and the requirements for international volunteers.
