My name is Nomagugu Dorcas Alipende, I am 27 years old, originally from Zimbabwe and currently
living in Norway where I am completing my au pair contract. I am writing to express my interest in
joining your elderly home as a Bundesfreiwilligendienst (BFD) participant. I am highly motivated to
contribute to meaningful work while building a strong foundation for my future career in healthcare.
Through my experience as an au pair, I have developed valuable skills in caregiving, communication,
empathy, responsibility, and cultural adaptability. These experiences have deepened my desire to work
in a field where I can support people who need care and compassion, especially the elderly. I believe
that the BFD offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience, learn from professionals, and
actively support the well-being of older individuals in the community.
I consider myself a patient, empathetic, hardworking, and responsible person. I am calm under
pressure, a strong team player, a quick learner, and I communicate effectively with people of different
backgrounds and ages. These qualities, combined with my dedication to helping others, make me
confident that I can contribute positively to your team.
One of my main motivations for applying for the BFD in Germany is to gain more experience in elderly
care and to prepare myself for a long-term career in the healthcare sector. I am also committed to
improving my German language skills. I currently hold an A2 Deutsch certificate and I am actively
working towards my B1 certificate, as I understand how important the language is for effective
communication and professional growth in Germany.
Supporting elderly individuals is something I value deeply. I want to contribute to creating a respectful,
safe, and caring environment for them. Helping older people maintain dignity, comfort, and
companionship is a responsibility I am ready to take on with commitment and warmth.
