Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Application for BFD from November 2025 It is with great enthusiasm that I am applying for a place in the Federal Voluntary Service (BFD) in your Hospital. Through my work as an au pair in Luxembourg and France as well as a tutor in Uganda I learned how important empathy, patience and structure are in care - skills, which are also fundamental in the care of patients and medical teams. During my time as an au pair, I was not only able to improve my German skills, but also gain a deeper insight into Luxembourg culture and society. I chose the Federal Voluntary Service because I am very much in the German health system and it offers me the opportunity to gain practical experience in a multicultural environment. As a lifelong learner, I see the BFD as an opportunity to further improve my German (I currently take lessons at the A2 level) and to integrate better into the health care system and to communicate. My professional background: My bachelor's degree in pedagogy (EQR level 6), combined with practical experience in nursing and social care, enables me to empathy, Sense of responsibility and communication skills that can be found in a hospital environment are essential.
